1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using OTHERDESK, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the app.
2. Who Can Use OTHERDESK
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.
3. Description of Service
OTHERDESK is a mobile app that helps remote workers discover laptop-friendly venues, with data on Wi-Fi quality, noise and seating shared by people who work there. Venue information comes from our community and our own research. It may not always be complete or up to date, so check with the venue when it matters to you.
4. User Accounts
You must create an account to use the app. You are responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials confidential and for all activity that happens under your account.
5. User Content and Check-ins
When you submit check-ins or other content, you grant OTHERDESK a non-exclusive, perpetual, royalty-free licence to use, display and analyse that content within the app, including in anonymous form after you delete your account. Check-ins are shown without your identity. You retain ownership of your content.
Check-ins must reflect what you actually experienced at the venue. We may remove content that is false, abusive or unlawful.
6. Purchases and Subscriptions
- 72-hour access (one-time): full access for 72 hours from purchase. It does not renew.
- Pro (subscription): full access, renewed automatically every month at the price shown at purchase until you cancel. You can cancel at any time in your Google Play subscription settings (Play Store › Payments & subscriptions); cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date to avoid being charged for the next month. Access continues until the end of the period you have paid for.
All purchases are processed by Google under its terms, and refunds follow Google's policies. Nothing in this section affects the rights you have under consumer law.
7. Ending Your Account
You can delete your account at any time from the Profile screen. We may suspend or close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms. Where reasonable, we will tell you first.
8. Limitation of Liability
We provide OTHERDESK with reasonable care, but we cannot guarantee that it will always be available or free of errors, or that venue information is complete or current. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the app.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for gross negligence, and nothing affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
9. Governing Law and Disputes
These terms are governed by Portuguese law. If you are a consumer, this does not take away the protection of the mandatory laws of your country of residence, and you may bring a claim in the courts where you live.
If you are a consumer in Portugal, you may also refer a dispute to an alternative dispute resolution entity, such as CNIACC — Centro Nacional de Informação e Arbitragem de Conflitos de Consumo (www.cniacc.pt).
10. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. We will publish the new text here with a new version number and effective date, and tell you in the app about material changes.
